Pre-order:
I’m so glad they don’t wait a year after a movie opens to release the home version anymore. Looking forward to seeing this.
I have a feeling this may have been influenced by the fact that there is already a pirate release of Dune Two with this quality.
Or it’s the other way around, because there was going to be this release, someone managed to steal a copy, which is where the pirate release came from. Dk.
I call anything over 2 hours a “sore bottom movie”.
Which for me means, unless I pay a fortune at showcase, I need to wait until it comes out on physical media, with a pause button.
I’m very glad the cycle has been tightened!I ended up stumbling across it and watched.
It’s crazy how much better than the first movie it is. Granted there’s more going on in general just because it’s the second half of the book, but damn it’s good.
I’m surprised they put the popcorn bucket on the cover.
How long before movie posters are just the entire cast
Not surprisingly, they put the popcorn bucket on the cover.
Hope it’s available to stream then as well.
Streaming hits April 16th if I recall correctly…
That’s PVOD (premium video-on-demand) which is different from streaming. With PVOD, you pay a one-time price of $29.99 to watch it on iTunes, Amazon Prime, etc.
Though in my opinion, if you’re gonna pay $29.99 for a digital file, you might as well wait for the physical.
Oh agreed 100%. Only way I would pay 30 is to have a copy of the file in perpetuity. At that, streaming also isn’t going to be the same stream off the Blu-ray, so lower quality at that (perceptible or not)
That is waaaaaaaay too much for me to remotely consider.
I pre-ordered the 4K steelbook as soon as it was available.
It’s a shame that the IMAX shots won’t be in it though.
Has it been confirmed it doesn’t have the imax scenes?
Yep, confirmed by Warner Home Video: https://www.reddit.com/r/4kbluray/comments/1bjhmy8/confirmed_dune_2_4k_blu_ray_will_not_include_imax/
Some are theorizing that the Part One + Part Two release or eventual trilogy release might have an IMAX release.
I would absolutely expect an imax release eventually, it’s a fantastic way for the distributor to double dip!
We will only get it if enough people bother Denis Villeneuve about it. He wanted the physical media releases to have the IMAX shots and was surprised when he was told recently that they don’t.
No theatrical release?
It’s been in theaters for over a month.
