The first couple of episodes were a bit slow as I tried to figure out what type of show it was trying to be. I’m done with season 1 now and will def keep it on the watchlist for season 2.

I would expect any pope or leader to remove those around him who are loyal to someone else.

What is the punchline you see in American media about Indian food?

The stereotype of Indian cuisine is that it sometimes has really strong flavor, sometimes a strong smell to match. Those are not bad things.

I don’t have any overall negative associations with Indian food. There are certainly dishes that don’t appeal to me, but if anyone wanted to go to an Indian restaurant for dinner, I would say “yes, please”.

Edit: I see some comments about “spicy diarrhea” jokes. I see those as a function of people not acclimated to spicy food, not that the spicy food itself is bad. I’m impressed by people who can eat full spicy level Indian food. I would be on a toilet for a day if I ate fully spicy level; that’s my problem, not the fault of Indian cuisine overall.

I’ve only used Yubikey when work mandated them for a while. Didn’t last long until they moved to a push-to-phone-app system instead. It was fine, just irritating to carry around one more physical thing.

And I prefer a smartphone based app in personal life. I use Authy, keeping my backup codes in several safe locations and separate from where I keep password vault backups.

There’s probably some super duper FOSS alt to Authy but I haven’t spent the time to look for it.

Body wash and long hair shampoo plus conditioner takes me 10 minutes, full shaving routine takes me another 10. Yes, I listen to music through a bluetooth speaker. Yes, the quality is what one would expect from an inexpensive speaker the size of a soda can.

What is age confusion? And at what age can one expect to think that murdering multiple children and adults is ok?

So far I’ve gone from baby all the way to middle age without ever thinking I should murder multiple people. I would even go so far as to say the vast majority of people make it through all ages without murdering.

I keep my vault password in fireproof containers in two separate off-site locations. And I use BitWarden, which has an emergency access process. I would assume many other vaults do too.

2FA backups are also stored in locations separate from where I have the vault password.

I also backup my vault a few times a year and keep those encrypted in another digital location.

People have recognized that species changed over time since the BC era. There are records of such from the Latin/Greek area and the Islamic area and Chinese area. Two dudes didn’t magically come up with evolution from scratch at the same time.

New people who don’t know wtf they are doing because we don’t have structured training and our written documentation is piss poor and we’re overall bad at helping them. Some new college grad botched a multi-million dollar program and come to find out, they weren’t getting any meaningful mentoring or guidance.

The thought is we will be better at seeing these sorts of gaps earlier if we’re having real conversations, not just the routine PowerPoint presentations sanitized to show all is good.

Could a team train and mentor via virtual interaction only? Sure. Can this particular team? Nope.

I was issued a monitor in the early days of COVID when they were sending us home to work. We already had laptops. They had literally pallettes of monitors, people were just grabbing one or two. Tracking was through the honor system, writing name and number taken on a piece of paper.

Now they’re having us go back into the office ~3 days a week and want us to return the monitors. Lol, no.
