If they are honest about what they are suggesting … the first step would be to be explicitly clear about who THEY are and WHO they represent.

I really don’t care that much about the technical side of things because I’m not that technically knowledgeable. However, I am more apt to trust the judgment or recommendations of prominent people in the industry (that are not corporately attached or controlled) … I would also trust public institutions or journalists or academics with a track record of social advocacy and wanting to represent people instead of corporations or businesses. I would also trust politicians or political advocates that mostly represent people and public institutions.

I really don’t put my faith in any one person no matter who they claim to be to just say they want to build something meaningful and give me no information on their background, who they worked for, who they represent or what kind of people or organizations they associate with. There have been far too many ‘good natured’ technocrats and technology people from the past decade or two who claim to say that they want to change the world for the better and then end up wanting to burn it all down for a profit.

Depending on who the group is … it is good to first do a thorough check on who the group is … it can just as likely be a group of scam artists that are riding on some nationalism band wagon happening around the world these days.

How can you lose something you never had?

Facial recognition? … attend gay pride events with the mask of your favourite politician

The best solution is to just stop interacting with the site for anything … don’t engage, don’t repost, don’t edit, don’t change, don’t salt bad data, don’t post nonsense … just stop engaging, get off the site and never input anything there ever again. Sure go back and look at things, just don’t engage any more and don’t add to the trash heap that has grown into a mountain range on humanity.

That’s exactly the method I was taught. After you do it enough times, you can open a box in seconds without any tools at all.

The other neat one was packing straps … you find the seam, turn it over, peel off the opposite loose end and the strap snaps free.

It’s like moving stuff around in a box to make things work or appear differently … if your head is upright and you can’t think past whatever it is you’re looking at, you tilt 45 degrees and all the brain mush slops over to one side of your skull and the ideas and thoughts get reset … if you’re still confused, you tilt 45 degrees in the other direction to reset the brain mush again … and you keep doing that to the brain mush until something starts making sense.

You always have to be aware of what might be inside. If it’s a bunch of solid objects, chances are you have some room to use a knife. If what’s inside is big and fluffy and soft, chances are you’re going to do damage.

The friend I talked about nearly got fired because he once ruined several big downy brand new winter jackets because he thought he was an expert with an exacto knife.

Lol … as a kid one of my first jobs was working at a grocery store. I learned early on from older people at the same job how to separate the tape and peel it off as fast as possible. If the box had more than one strip of tape, you just used the pointed edge of anything to snap the tape … a pencil,a pen, a nail, a screw, a clipboard, sometimes just even a fingernail.

As soon as you remove the tape, you cleanly get at everything inside without damaging anything.

Since the 2010s, internet search engines have all been about monetizing, optimizing, directing, misdirecting, manipulating searches in order to drive users to the highest paying companies or businesses, groups or individuals that best knew how to use Search Engine Optimization. For the past 20 years, we’ve created an internet based on how we can manipulate everyone and everything in order to make someone money. The internet is no longer designed to freely and openly share information … it’s now just a wasteland of misinformation, disinformation, nonsense and manipulation because we are all trying to make money off one another in some way.

AI is just making all those problems bigger, faster and more chaotic. It’s trying to make money for someone but it doesn’t know how yet … but they sure are working on trying to figure it out.

I always saw it as a psychological test … they’re trying to find gullible, pliable individuals who can passably do the work and agree to be paid as little as possible and made to work as much and as often as they can.

A bonus for them would be actually finding people they could literally treat like slaves and not pay them anything.

At this point with every trump headline, include the phrase … “AND AMERICA IS ALLOWING HIM”
