Game consoles.
Game consoles.
I wish there were more high quality dumb TVs. Most of the dumb TVs I can find today are both very expensive and lack the features I’m looking for like HDR and 120hz+ frame rates.
I know the argument is that the privacy invasions are subsidizing the cost of the TV but I have yet to see non-anecdotal evidence of that and suspect that the price of the TV would be the same either way because the market will only support so much expense.
Big Foot actually being a catchall term for major shoe manufacturers is one of my new favorite things.
Maybe they started the ape-man Bigfoot rumors to distract people from the true evil of Big Foot.
Was there a claim of lack of output that I didn’t see? I admittedly skimmed this.
I was under the impression that the only issue was that they weren’t in their seats when they were supposed to be, which is so fucking stupid I struggle to find words to describe it.
I am a manager, people report to me. I judge if they’re working effectively based on their output, and as long as the output is what the job requires I could not care less when they’re at their desks. They’re being paid to get work done, not sit in their seats.
Some jobs do require that you sit in your seat for x hours a day, but we shouldn’t pretend all jobs do.
Strategic voting is a direct result of first past the post voting; effectively any system that uses FPTP will result in a two party system where your vote gets used against the other person not for your choice.
I’ll continue to shill for ranked choice voting whenever I see any opportunity.
A device that can do all of the things a phone can do without needing to find and install apps, that can learn from your usage patterns in effective and practical ways, and is unobtrusive to wear all the time sounds pretty fucking cool to me.
That is the promised future that AI devices are selling; I thought I was pretty clear that this device was never going to deliver on it.
I’m sure this will pass, I just do not understand why people vote against their own best interest so damn often.
I think it would be really cool if it worked like they wanted us to believe it would. Like, it could be one of those “change the way we live our day to day lives” events to the like of of smartphones becoming mainstream.
This device was never going to live up to that or get anywhere close to it, but I can’t blame people for really wanting to believe.
I had a setup that turned on the action camera when I put my thumb on the steam decks left stick, so I was always in normal mode unless I was actively looking around or moving.
It was pretty natural and the best experience I came up with, but I still felt like it was a compromise I was frustrated to have to make.
I set up a pretty workable controller config that I played with for like two months, but even with many hours invested in fine tuning it I just felt like I was fighting the game’s UI and I gave up.
What’s really frustrating is that the game is totally playable with a controller. ANet just needs to update the menus and it would be a fantastic experience.
If we’ve just met, not at all.
If we’ve been best friends for 10 years, that would sting a little.
It’s a sad time to be alive when people genuinely believe that being openly hostile and combative is the same thing as constructive criticism.
Banning seems totally reasonable to me. Nobody is obligated to put up with that shit.

I… I have no idea if this is satire or a legitimate quote and that is so depressing.
I’m not blaming you for the state of the world, I’m blaming you for taking your fatalist nonsense and using it to try to bring down others with you.
This attitude is what lets the government and big tech get away with so much bullshit.
“Well it’s happening already so crying about it isn’t going to change anything because you know that protest has never ever been effective even once ever and I kinda like the taste of boot anyways so what’s the big deal?”
Learning to work the clutch and feel the friction zone is a more difficult skill than some want to admit.
Learning to drive a motorcycle was a bit overwhelming, I remember my instructor talking about applying the brakes with right hand and foot while disengaging the clutch with the left hand and downshifting with the left foot… and thinking “how the hell is anyone supposed to keep track of all that!”
I do miss my stick shift though, it was more fun to drive even if less practical.
It makes me so angry because children are vulnerable and trusting; exploiting that to get them to believe in nonsense is evil.
Such as? If you have a reasonably priced OLED dumb tv with HDR and 120FPS up your sleeve you will be my favorite internet friend.
