I tend to buy the last years iPhone when I get a new phone, it is cheaper and has less bugs.
I am still on the iPhone 12 mini

That is a fair point, and I am not asking to change any persons beliefs, I just think it is a copout to blame X for taking away your agency when you want it taken away.
Are sympathy strikes permitted in the US?
They are here and it rules!
In my 2021 Seat Leon the controls for defogging the windscreen and the heated rear window (both essential in Sweden) are placed on a cluster of touch buttons below and to the left of the steering wheel.
It is insane, you have to take you eyes off the road and lean forward to press them.
Also, to activate the seat heater, you need to access the climate panel on the infotainment, so you loose the view of any CarPlay navigation.
The car has dedicated touch surfaces to change the AC temp, but the main ones are next to the power button touch area for the infotainment, and none of the areas are illuminated.
I like my car, it is fun and comfortable, but the overreliance of touch controls is infuriating at times.
That is exactly my point, this is similar to veganism/vegetarianism, it is a choice you want to make and continue to make.
And I get it, I have had the privilege of growing up mostly without religion, that obviously colours my viewpoint, but if people could accept that religion is a choice rather than a fact the world would be a way better place.
I have never bought a new phone every year…
I tend to use mine until it’s EOL or until the battery is unusable.
So far I normally get 4-5 years out of my phones.
Real laws are different though, they have a state sanctioned justice system that forces compliance.
Following a religion in the US is not regulated by law, but is a choice.
Sadly, groups of people are working to change this.
If a religion’s rules do become proper laws then you can use “can’t” correctly.
The spouse is Roman Catholic and cannot support abortion
That is bullshit.
They can support abortion as much as they want, they don’t want to support it.
I hate it when people say that they can’t do X because their religion, be honest and say that you don’t want to do X because they want to follow the rules of their religion.
I don’t have a pet right now, but when I grew up we had an amazing black cat with thick but short fur and tuffs of hair on her ears.
Anyway, she always wanted to drink water from the shower when she was thirsty, this despite having a full water bowl.
It would get to the point where she would come into your room and get your attention and lead you to the shower and look at it and then at you until you turned it on to wet the floor so she could drink.
She was absolutely crazy for my mom’s apple pie, it was the only time she ever jumped up on the living room table when we all sat around it, just to get a bite of apple pie, she knew very well that she wasn’t allowed to be on the table, yet the allure of the apple pie was too strong…
She was an amazing huntress, there were days when she came home with two fieldfares that she had killed, one time when she had been out all night (cats are legally allowed to free roam in Sweden) we opened the door and there was a tail from a squirrel laying on the porch, she was so effective that the birds posted lookouts for her and dive bombed her with birdshit.
She never made a fuzz when mom had to wash her after she had been shat on, to the point where she stayed in the bathtub and waited for my mom to get a towel to dry her off.
She hated being in your lap and would jump off at the first chance, but she always liked being where the rest of the family was, if we were watching a movie on the TV she would come down and lay on the rug in the living room with us.
Before we got her, I didn’t realize that cats could hiccup, I saw it once or twice, I heard a small hiccup sound and her entire body shook slightly and she looked increadibly confused when it happened.
My Panasonic Lumix S5 camera, it has been a huge upgrade from my old GX80.
A proper digital camera has had a huge impact on my life, they have made me go and see places just because I wanted a photo.
They have really improved my quallity of life.
We allways hear that surveilence and monitoring is good, and that you don’t have to be afraid unless you have something to hide.
Is this an admission that this isn’t true, or that they have something to hide?
I want an interesting operating system as much as I want to live next to an interesting nuclear powerplant.
Operating systems should be boring, they should just handle basic tasks and support whatever program I am running on top of them.
Calling Recall interesting just makes me want it less, it is one more huge vector of personal information that can and will be mined or breached and then mined.
Compairing SpaceX and Boeing is wrong when talking about savings.
Compare a SpaceX launch to a Shuttle launch yo be more accurate, and don’t forget the inflation
SpaceX is wasting government money, they have almost spent all of the money they were given to land people on the moon, on building a rocket that can’t do basic stuff.
That is not awesome.
Ok, I won’t, thanks!
Honestly though, they should have added Qi charging to the magic mouse, as well as magnets to you could easily place it on the back of the iMac and have it charging when you leave the computer…
It would be an electric standig desk as well, battery powered obviously, and you would need to flip the table top 90 degrees up sideways to recharge the battery every other month.
Yeah, I can see that, I was just trying to say that there Mac followed a standard
In 5 years:

Youtube graciously allows video playback inbetween ads
Meh, if the law permits that cats may free roam, which they do in Sweden, I’ll let my cat outside.
