About half of my content has nonnembedded subs with the sub file in its own folder, I can’t use subs for those shows, they just don’t appear

AFAIK the subs have to be in the same folder as the video and bear the same name:
s03e01.mp4
s03e01.srt
Thanks ill try this out, think my file names differ
