I have seen a lot of the village signs being upside down here in the french pyrenees. I was wondering if that was just some guy having fun, is it a national sport or some village rivalry? I think i have seen this elsewhere in france too, but here it seems very prevalent.
Farmers protest against government policies that are “upside down”. Hence the sign that are upside down.
Literally: “Qui marche sur la tête”/“who walks on the head”. Similar: thinking with your feet.
This was done last winter, but in many places no one can be bothered to fix it or it’s seen as a sign of solidarity with the local farmers.
