You know, chalk… markers…
Actually, we use quills a surprising amount of the time!

So you think the main difference between Elon and other rich people is that other rich people keep a low profile?
So does that mean you think that other ultra wealthy people are just as influential (and damaging to the world) as Elon? Because I don’t doubt that the ultra wealthy are problematic in general, but I think Elon is worse, like in a big way. And he’s been changing a lot in the world for the last 20 years, like a lot more than literally anyone I can think of.
So I recently bought a couple pairs of pants from Duluth trading company, and I’ve gotta say, I’m loving the enormous array of pockets they have. Yesterday I discovered that the pants have an inside pocket with a zipper. I literally hadn’t noticed that before.
I mean, I’m not really sure how I’d use that inside pocket. I’d have to literally unzip the fly to access it… But it’s there.
TIL, the threadiverse has a lot of .zip communities.
I wonder if they’ll be larger after I unpack them?
That’s true, but there are a lot of those people in the world, tens of thousands. Where are all of them in the news? He seems different in some way, right? Do you even know the name of the CEO of Hasbro or Ford or CocaCola? I bet they’re rich, I bet they grew up rich…
Yeah, OLED isn’t really the best choice for an e-reader.
There’s a reason e-ink is a thing.
Second question, if you’re going to read from one screen at a time, why have two screens?
Oh man we certainly do struggle. It’s like all the tools they make for actually doing theoretical psycho-ornithology are right handed! You know what I mean?
Hah, I’m not convinced that interpretation is wrong. It’s weird how influential he’s been on the world, right?
I mean if this is that sort of simulation, he’d probably be a player right? I know that as I get to the end of games, I get all the currency I’ll ever need, I have all the best items, and the whole game becomes easy, that’s about when I start becoming an asshole, testing the boundaries. Like “can I just kill this character? I’m gonna shoot them, just to see what happens. lol, the guards didn’t like that much, look at em running around… I’ll shoot them too”.
I think that’s where Elon is right now, just being an enormous asshole just to see what happens. That’s some gamer ass behavior right there!
Sure, but if you apply hanlon’s razor whenever it’s applicable, you’re right more often.
“never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.”
Heh, well some of those are most definitely of higher quality, but you mostly see that difference in throughput and seek times. But the underlying storage mechanism is the same, so yeah, this aspect is probably universal.
Finding bacterial would be super cool, we could learn a whole lot from that! But if we do find complex alien life, multicellular life or something like animals, well that’s a really, incredibly bad sign.
That suggests that complex life is common in the universe. And if complex life is common, intelligent life should be common. And if intelligent life should be common, but isn’t (because where are they all?), that says bad things about the success and survival rates of intelligent species.
Well a rocket only system is right out.
But… There’s certainly still potential for a hybrid system. You can get real high up with balloons, once above the thickest atmosphere rockets work a lot better.
Also, depending on the atmosphere, aircraft could be very effective, you might be able to accelerate to great speeds on jet engines, and then have a second stage based on chemical rockets.
But for the most part, yeah, getting to space on a planet that massive would be an absolute pain in the ass. No simple task.
Absolutely. Sata SSD, m.2/nvme, USB thumb drives, it’s all just different form factors for nand flash memory.
I was in highschool at this point and I totally would have ratted any kid out for that.
No mouse balls would mean no Quake or StarCraft in the lab after school… Unacceptable!
Does someone need a nap? How bout a snack buddy? I bet you’ll feel way better after some goldfish and an apple juice.
If the speed limit is 55, but at the moment there’s lots of traffic going about 80, it is legitimately more dangerous to stay under 55. To be clear, the law is unambiguously here, it’s black and white. So ultimately it’s your choice. You have to decide at what point is safety a higher concern than legality?
I would say… at some point.
Bad faith arguments indeed… I’ve been nothing but reasonable, which anyone reading this can clearly see. So when I politely pointed out that your arguments are weak, you changed tactics, trying to discredit me instead. At this point that effort only provides additional supporting evidence that you are in fact just a troll.
So how does one example demonstrate that Jews, as a group all hold that belief?
It seems to me more like you’re just trying to spread divisive sentiments, like a troll.
If I were to read a book on my computer, I would use one screen. That’s kinda my point. A second monitor does nothing for me in that scenario.
But it folds like a book, and i see it being held like a book. If that means text populates in two columns like a book, and you read one column at a time, I really don’t see the point of the second side. You can just turn the page.
