I transcribe posts over on c/microblogmemes along with whatever else i feel like transcribing

This. And it doesn’t only apply to companies. I have a personal blog with a couple accessibility issues that I haven’t bothered to fix because I’ve built a lot of my CSS around my bad HTML. Part of the issue is that I built my site as a school project for a web design class I was taking, so code quality wasn’t great. One day I might redesign it better, but I don’t have the energy for now.
who is wanting to build route-stonehenge?
Ayy, shout out Alyssa Rosenzweig! They’re doing great work on M1 graphics drivers.
A symbiotic relationship can be many things. Mutualistic (both organisns benefit), parasitic (one benefits, one harmed), and commensalism (one benefits, one is unaffected)
Every once and a while a non rugby player would think it was just an excuse to roll around with a hot chick, and they would get absolutely demolished. Just getting absolutely manhandled by a girl
The perfect deal if they’re into that
Why is everyone downvoting? This is a joke… right?
why an egg? Would it be to represent the disorientation of suddenly realizing you have been on Lemmy for a whole year? Like how an animal may be disorientated when seeing the light of the world for the first time.
Because that is what it will take to dethrone YouTube.
I think YouTube will eventually end up destroying itself. It’s not a profitable business model to just run some ads. The amount of storage, bandwidth, and processing power a video host requires is massive.
Worse case scenario, we gotta make an extension that detects the ad UI and blanks the screen and mutes the audio until its over
Blockbuster is now too big to fail, and too big to be replaced.
Wild that Wells Fargo would issue computers that would allow people to install anything on them.
That’s a very common thing. I don’t know a single company or organization that prevents executables from running. You don’t have to install programs to use them, it’s just that most software ships installers
Funnily enough an accounting teacher I had used Wells Fargo
How about people just host videos on their own infrastructure or rented VPS? Honestly the idea that creators should get paid by YouTube/Twitch/etc confuses me. Those services if anything should be charging creators money as they are providing them computing resources.
Someone could say the same for an OS, but we have many open source alternatives.
An OS requires significantly less resources. The only online features you need for an OS is a website to market the OS and host ISO’s. Then you need a server to distribute packages to users. Packages which are significantly smaller then HD or 4K videos
It requires a truly astonishing amount of technical expertise, infrastructure, monitoring, throughput capacity, not to mention sheer compute and storage, to keep it running.
Indeed. Yet they still add stupid features like 8K video and high-bitrate 1080p. What the heck are they doing? Who needs more then 720p anyways?
Never heard of IntelliSync, I’ve used HotSync though
Should’ve just killed them all at Neuralink. That’s what they specialize in
IntelliApple
Reminds me of the Microsoft IntelliMouse. Man I’m old.
Not fediverse, but a personal website on Neocities is customizable
