I am sorry. I went to a little rant, but I meant it rather funny even though I realize it feels aggressive 🤣. I am just enthusiastic about this topic even though I don’t know that much.

You can with some tinkering. You can uninstall the default launcher with ADB shell and some Android TV show select launcher options when more than 1 is installed.

It’s very fine unless you decide you just must and have to convert that audio to MP3 (the audio loses quality with every lossy compression), because you are an old boomer and other formats scare you even though almost all modern device can play OPUS or at least M4A or you are one of those people who call themselves “Audiophiles” to feel more special, but wouldn’t recognize a shit if I played OPUS 192kbps on their 2000$ home audio setup instead of the 24 bit uncompressed FLAC that has over 30MB in size each. I have most of my library from YT Music which is ~128kbps OPUS and it has been transparent on all audio devices I have played it till now.

That’s how one spends time with his kids!

Some probably use an API of some sort, because SmartTube for Android TV even synchronises your watch history, subscriptions, you login with your google account etc…

I use AdAway on my rooted phone. Honestly there are plenty of ways to filter ads out on most devices.

What requests? I though that only information that the browser gives to website regarding dark theme is that your preferred-color-scheme is now dark.

I also have a 120hz display and use Fennec and can state that it works smoothly and scrolling feels like 120hz.

The video is based in mentioned sources. I don’t see a reason why every video from LTT should be non-credible.

Is this really the fault of the format or the fact that it just isn’t that much well supported?

For easy fast sharing over local LAN there are services like https://pairdrop.net which are far from hard to use. It may not be as fast as USB, but in most cases it works well. I just wanted to point out that sharing things over LAN is not that hard.

Even better service is LocalSend.

Regarding privacy on iOS, I recommend watching [this video] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHnBOUNxHsw). You can get more privacy on Android with some tweaking (custom ROMs, AdAway, uninstalling pre-installed bloatware, etc…). There are several ways to get more privacy, some easier than others. I know most people won’t even try. On the other hand, with iOS, you’re handing your privacy over to Apple in good faith, but you have far fewer options to take things into your own hands. People want privacy out of the box, but that often clashes with companies’ interest in making as much money as possible (simply put). Some companies use privacy as a selling point in their marketing campaign, but often it is just false advertising.

I do so. When you start the browser it’s bloated of course, but you can customize it and remove almost everything you don’t like. The browser itself has a lot of its own neat features, so it’s not really just a reskin of chromium. I am tired of pretending it’s only bad.
