Yippie! I wonder if they’ll go camping this season! I bed it’ll be very chill and laid back. Seriously love the vibe of this series.
We learn what happened to Machina and also get to see Machina being a badass before she predictably loses to Marcus.
Takahashi does movie-logic computer hacking to speed the plot along.
Veltol and Gram end up joining forces and have a lovers spat, surprising no one. Still cool though.
Can’t wait to see how things develop now that all the pieces are in motion.
In the US, you can still get the stuff containing pseudoephedrine but you have to go to the pharmacy and ask for it and then show your ID. Out of curiosity, what’s the process in Australia?
Dude, what are you even talking about?
I said it was good they banned the ineffective ingredient so now they should do something about banning homeopathy. You said, “Ummm they did? That is what this banned, an advertised effective treatment that does nothing” but they did NOT ban homeopathy, just that one specific ingredient which had nothing to do with homeopathy. Now you’re talking as if the first comment you said was something completely different.
So please, tell me what argument you’re actually trying to make.
I’ve gotten into the habit of checking active ingredients after almost accidentally buying something homeopathic that was immediately adjacent the thing I actually meant to grab.
Tell me you didn’t read the article without telling me you didn’t read the article.
Seriously dude, you just had to read the first sentence. They only banned one particular ingredient.
Guys… I decided to watch Borderlands just to see how bad it was. It’s so very very bad.
Five minutes in it was already a train wreck. Virtually EVERY role was miscast (or if I’ve been very generous, given bad direction). Most of the acting was so bad I thought Kevin Hart did a GREAT JOB! Half the soundtrack felt like it was pulled from Tony Hawk Pro Skater.
They re-wrote so much of the story and so many of the characters it was like why even bother getting the IP in the first place?
And the BIG TWIST was that Lilith was a Siren. You know, something that is absolutely no secret to anyone who’s ever played ANY of the Borderlands games.
I’m just so absolutely dumbfounded how they could think that any of this was good. But sure, blame it on the “cult game” that’s sold over 77 million copies and had TWO successful game releases after you announced your movie.
Good. Now do something about homeopathy. I’m so sick of having to explain to people that homeopathy is not medicine in any shape or form. It’s not even a home remedy. And it sits right next to actual medicine so people might accidentally buy it unwittingly.
Agree. Also they cut out enough of the book to make a movie of reasonable length without absolutely butchering the entire point and plot of the book.
Another example of great movie adaptation of a book is How to Train Your Dragon. Takes a complete departure from the book to make something cinematic. You don’t have to copy the book verbatim to make a good book-based movie.
Rem made multiple copies of his tracksuit but how they still exist after her name was eaten I guess doesn’t really make sense.
Since just her name (and memories) was eaten, she still exists as does all the things she’s done. Just everyone’s memory of her is gone. It’s different than when the white whale ate her out of existence.
As for everyone else, it’s just that typical anime thing of keeping characters in the same outfit so you don’t need a design sheet for multiple outfits.
This is the most correct answer. But hey, we did get yukata recently! Also in an anime with a lot of supporting cast, keeping them in the same outfit helps prevent the viewer from going “wait, who is that character?”
Full agree. You kind of have to turn your brain off and just enjoy the fights. But the story?
“We need to protect Alma at all costs”
“Oh, so I should stay in hiding in a secret bunker or something? Maybe joining the rebel forces so I’m surrounded my protection?”
“Nah, just live at home and go to school like normal”
“Oh, so the bad guys don’t know who I am or where I live and switching my routine might clue them in?”
“No, they know full well who you are and where you live. They even sent someone to the same school as you.”
“Oh, so you think I’m so powerful that they can’t touch me?”
“No, we think you’re worthless. But we gave you a bodyguard that doesn’t follow orders very well and has been defeated several times already so it should be fine. Plus in this episode you develop the power of FRIENDSHIP!”
What a BS excuse. That’s like saying the Dragon Ball movie did bad because it’s a cult show that failed to find a broader audience.
There is, and it’s actually kinda cool if a bit simple.
There’s the vaults, the sirens, and the ancient aliens. There’s the unusual planet of Pandora, the different factions, and the corps. There’s all the different characters all with backstory.
So yes, there’s enough material to make a decent movie with. But like so many video game movie adaptations the writer just phones in a generic script without honoring the source material. Even the casting choices were a mess. Lilith is supposed to be in her twenties so getting Cate Blanchett to play her just came off as wrong even if Cate is a good actress.
For me it was Alice in Wonderland (2010). I really enjoyed the whole “I do six impossible things before breakfast” thing. I was also really drunk when I watched it.
I like The Core but omg it’s objectively terrible. “Unobtanium” is just a buckyball. The random kid drawing in the notebook just for heartstrings. Them welding power connectors right next to each other on the hull so that even IF their nonsense theory was correct they’d only be 0.01% efficient. Oh, and if the core stopped spinning it wouldn’t get the planet roasted anyway.
But hey, it’s a B movie so I give it some slack.
Lena x Shin hits even harder because they never see each other until the very final episode. Witch from Mercury is on my watchlist so I’ll have to give it a go.
Most of the episode just explains Koga’s tragic backstory and it still somehow fails to make Koga interesting.
The best part of the whole episode is seeing the back-stabbing mayor get his arm cut off.
I feel kinda silly for making this counter now
I mean, with how the season started it felt like it was going to be a death fest! Now it feels like so much progress has happened he’s unlikely to die again, at least not before hitting another save point. I mean, we even have Otto making good moves and if Otto is winning then that’s clearly the “correct” route _
[Dragon blood] even grew back the bandages and his shoe somehow!
I actually had to go back to the previous episode just to make sure I didn’t miss something.
Priscilla being an insane badass was really cool to watch too. Like yes, she’s stuck-up and intolerable, but she has the skills to back it all up.
Yeah, might be hard to follow FDA regulations when the FDA gets dismantled and no longer exists… eye twitch
