You didn’t answer my question. Let’s try a different one. Once again without copping out: Give us a couple good reasons for why a book should be restricted in education.
Soooo a game, which is not paid for nor developed by the community, and is rather purchased with the knowledge that it is a difficult game which will require ample skill to surpass its many challenges, should put in difficulty sliders despite them fundamentally going against the very nature of the game itself?
I embarrassed the COO of a large organization once in front of approximately half of that organization’s management. Managed to get away with it. So yes, I can say with some certainty that being able to stand up and freely express yourself is character building and, frankly, fucking awesome.
Which books do you believe shouldn’t be provided in a classroom setting?
No copouts. I don’t think anyone expects a bunch of 3rd graders to have a discussion on 50 Shades of Grey.
That doesn’t matter though. I do celebrate that you have managed to pay off several loans succinctly without defaulting. Sincerely, well done. However, that in no way relates to what I asked.
It’s up to you, of course. No one here can force you. All I did was challenge you to examine what you are certain you know, that’s all.
Good luck. It wasn’t a post, it was a top level comment and I have a dim memory of it only being slightly related to the post topic.
So I’m not going to go into detail. Instead I’m going to ask you to truly challenge your belief here and look into it personally. Consider the interest rates, average wage, rate of inflation, and total cost for rent and other bills. Factor in food and gas costs appropriately.
Out of curiosity: How much do you make and what are your monthly expenses?
There are lots of great answers here so I want to post something entirely silly and much much more recent:
About 8-9 years ago someone on Reddit transcribed and revised the entirety of Edgar Allen Poe’s The Raven to instead be about an Emu.
For the life of me I have never been able to find it again.
Yessum. I knew someone who put 20k down on a house after saving for awhile, this was back in late 2010s. Locked in $385/mo. Still had the yearly taxes, which weren’t the worst.
I mean have them and have working “them” are entirely different monsters.
I just fired up Donkey Kong Country recently after lowkey bragging about how I knew all the secrets, despite playing it last years ago. Partner was like, “Aight. Show.”
“Kay”
And to my surprise I still remember where everything is and breezed past all except one level so far.
And you all know which fucking level that was.
Sure sure, easily readable by what definition? Under a microscope? From a distance? Only if you cross your eyes? All very easy to do.
I can’t read it atm. Is there a size requirement?
Language requirement?
Does it HAVE to be readable?
Cause woo are my malicious compliance human mandibles quivering.
After I unlocked the White Robe I used to go back into games and find people. Then I’d just chill with them chirping, giving subtle hints on where things were, and being patient while floating around levels. It remains one of my favorite games of all time.
Managers like that suck. When I was a manager in retail whenever I made a choice that may have agreed with or disagreed with one of my Team’s opinions or choices I always stopped to explain my reasoning and sought to make sure they understood. Taught my whole team how to deal with shit without needing me present, though I also reminded them that the instant it became too much they were to call me up.
No one fucks with my crew. Though I also knew the best thing I could do for them was stand in front only when I needed to, not every time if they wanted to handle it.
Oh no I didn’t mean any sort of shaming. Only that this digital world creates new stressors and puzzles for both parent and child. A kid just hitting 15 has essentially grown up in a world where digital and anime characters influenced them. Many kids may attach some emotional prerequisite to those characters and unintentionally judge others based on that perspective. Moreover, hanging out in person after The Lost Years (Covid) is almost secondary to the ease of things like Snapchat and other obligations such as school bring.
I don’t envy any parent trying to work through this.
I won’t discount them unless an Elder Scrolls or Fallout game drops and is garbage. 76 has turned around into an actually enjoyable experience, for instance. At the same time I don’t particularly care if a studio pumps out good or bad as there will still be idiots preordering and buying day 1. I am more than happy to wait for the reviews. A good game is a good game, and a bad one, bad. Who develops it makes no real difference apart from an expectation.
Thaaaat saaaid: Todd, my dude, you do actually need to hurry up. A great entry into the Fallout universe would restore some of the old faith you have caused to fall away.
I’m tempted to really believe in Biden taking the loss and just going absolutely balls to the walls with harsh ads aimed at the GOP and Trump, hitting dozens of speaker events at high levels of energy, and becoming what we wish the Democratic party would become to win this thing.
Realistically though, I’d prefer a sound, harder left leaning, less bipartisan nominee. It’s a safer and surer bet, unfortunately.
