I am a little tired of the idea that “tech” is something extraordinary. Capitalists in a capitalist society will do all evil to fulfill their goal, t3ch or no tech. You could use the same sentence in everything in this society. Even: “… and how green energy always serves the ruling class.”

Yeah, I used to play 1.6 and source. Then my family and job life had me quit playing for a few years. When I came back it said 1.6 hours for both. Cannot say when it happened though.

Never got into GO, but I was probably just too old to compete at that point.

I once had a colleague who would get hysteric when someone would clean the coffee machine. People are weird. Not cleaning tea potts and even mugs is also quite common among elder germans. They argue it tastes better that way. (They drink the tea without sugar or milk, so it probably isn’t thaaat bad.)

At my university time I had some student friends who brew loose tea in a kettle. Was kinda disgusting tbh.

Tomato puree has a lot of sugar, because tomatoes contain a lot of sugar. Pure 3-times concentrated tomato puree is 18% sugar.

Hm, okay. Maybe it’s just a US government page thing then. Here in Germany firefox is still at 20% and used to be the standard browser until 5-6 years ago, so maybe pages are still optimized for it here.

Can you send me an example? I don’t think I ever really encountered those sites and I use FF almost exclusively for ~20 years.

In Germany you have to show your ID card to get it, at least in theory.

Having a large country doesn’t necessarily mean that your cities and towns have to spread like crazy. Russia is even larger but the cities are much more compact than US cities.

I am on Mastodon for 5 years now (fuck it is really 5 years since August 2019, what the hell) and just can’t get into it. It just feels lonely over there. What am I doing wrong?

Tbh, I think it is the post statistics thing. It says “1 reply”, then I click at ot and it has 4 replies and it ALWAYS says “0 favorites” even when 10 people comment how great that post was.

No idea about the UK. But in Germany a comparable hospital stay (single bed room) would be up to a 1000€ per day afaik. If you are publicly insured in Germany, you’d still easily pay 150€ out of your own pocket (otherwise the rooms have 2-4 beds).

But I already learned in this thread that the costs in the US are far worse.
