Say “no” to Ubislop! You’ll be happy you did :)
Hello, tone-policing genocide-defender and/or carnist 👋
Instead of being mad about words, maybe you should think about why the words bother you more than the injustice they describe.
Have a day!
Say “no” to Ubislop! You’ll be happy you did :)
+1 for Ploopy mice. I have the Ploopy Adept, and I’ll never go back to another mouse. They mostly make trackballs, but they do have a “regular” mouse if trackballs aren’t your thing.
The biggest problem with Ploopy is that they only seem to make mice for people with bigger hands, so if that’s not you, you’re kind of screwed :/
Seriously. I’m really into keyboards with QMK, but I buy prebuilt keyboards and mice that are capable of running it because if using QMK required me to solder something, I wouldn’t be able to. Soldering is a skill that most people don’t have.

That has nothing to do with what’s happening. Twitter can’t be fucked to appoint a legal team to comply with Brazilian law, so they don’t get to operate there. Simple as.
That is a rad *fetch image 😎
Yeah. Piracy is alive-and-well. You can even acquire and play PS5 games right now if you wanted to.
It’s also worth noting that even Sony can’t be bothered to properly emulate the PS3, which has resulted in many PS3-era games being remade into either native PC versions, or PS4/5 titles.
While it’s true that there are still some PS3-exclusive games that aren’t available in other formats, many of them are, so most people can get pretty far without needing PS3 emulation.
I only bring that up for anyone that may think they need PS3 emulation, but maybe haven’t been made aware of newer remakes or native PC ports of the games they’re actually looking for.
This is so true. The state of gaming on the Steam Deck is great right now. Even the foreboding unsupported
status is only ever really a problem with asinine anti-cheat, and that’s just like a handful of games that aren’t worth playing in the first place.

That’s why I poo on company time
Yes. The US is also authoritarian. Yes, there is a clear media bias when it comes to the headlines that western media outlets are willing to run. In particular, painting non-western countries as more authoritarian than the US (which is sometimes true).
It’s valuable to point this out. Dog knows the shitty media bias bots used in other communities won’t.
However, the overall tone of your comment seems to suggest that it’s okay for non-western governments to do authoritarian bullshit, just because the US does. I trust that wasn’t the point of your comment, but I assume that’s why some may not take kindly to it.
For what it’s worth: my instance disables down votes, so I literally can’t down vote posts I disagree with.
We built Haptic to make markdown writing simpler and more accessible. We believe that many existing editors are too complex for simple use cases and day-to-day note writing, so we decided to fix that.
Ready to Use: Open Haptic and start writing. No setup needed.
Simple Design: Clean interface so you can focus on your writing.
Write Anywhere: Use Haptic on any computer with internet. Great for public or work computers where you can’t download software.
Made for Everyone: If other editors feel overwhelming, you’ll like Haptic.
Open Source: Self-host your own instance, giving you full control over your setup.
Haptic is all about making writing easier. We’ve left out extra features to keep things simple and help you get your ideas down without fuss.
Note: If you’re looking for a markdown editor with plugin systems, complex setups, or feature-packed interfaces, Haptic might not be for you. But if you want something straightforward that just works, give Haptic a try!
When people hear the concept of thought crimes described to them, they rightfully recoil in disgust at that kind of dystopic idea. However, euphemize the concept as intellectual property, and for some reason, most people are fine with it.
Good point. I edited my original comment. Thanks for providing a more positive perspective on this :)
You can’t open a restaurant that doesn’t comply with food safety law. This is a “skill issue” on Musk’s part. Not censorship.
Typically, I would agree. However, what is happening with Twitter and Brazil isn’t censorship; it’s Twitter refusing to appoint legal council to respond to any legal complaints within Brazil’s jurisdiction. Musk has made the conscious decision to have Twitter not be legally-compliant with Brazil’s laws, therefore Brazil doesn’t allow them to operate there.
Sorry. To clarify what I meant: the “bummer” is that I want the situation with Starlink, Twitter, and Brazil to result in the permanent downfall of that dogshit site, and severe fines for Starlink so that other countries can look toward Brazil as an example of how to deal with the kinds of social media sites that allow disinformation to propagate.
The fact that Starlink has agreed to comply takes off some of the heat, and therefore leaves some of the territory of fully exploring the legal ramifications of holding reich-wing billionaire freaks somewhat accountable for the shit that their companies do unexplored. Yeah, it’s good that Twitter is still forbidden from operating in Brazil, but I would have liked for Musk to face more repercussions through Starlink as well.
I hope that the EU still takes action against Twitter though, with or without any additional escalation involving Starlink.
Silly question: what’s the difference between the otf and ttf fonts?
Edit: thanks for the explainers!
That’s a bummer. I was hoping EU countries would be inspired by Brazil to actually enforce some of their laws and ban Twitter as well.
Edit: as vxx pointed out, there is a positive way to interpret this outcome, and I was probably being needlessly pessimistic.
I have the ZSA Moonlander and Voyager keyboards. I like them a lot.
I also have the Ploopy Adept and Nano mice that also run QMK.
I bought all of them preassembled. I’d love to know what other brands are out there that sell preassembled peripherals that can run open firmware.
