I mean they didnt write that in the article from this post that was published 3 hours ago. I assumed it would be up to date, so thanks for the correction. I guess the guardian is just outdated or intentionally misleading then.

Nah it says this in the article:
A Kremlin statement said Putin had issued an order to the Russian military to suspend strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
I know they arent trustworthy, but if Russia had violated the terms, then the headline would read
Russia violates terms hours after partial ceasefire…
and not
Russia attacks…
Putin agreed to halt attacks on energy infrastructure
damaging homes and injuring civilians
They technically didnt violate the terms i guess, but this is not what was intended i believe.
But dreaming is so fuuun, dont wake me up yet…
if shareholders start shenanigans.
That happens only when user count and platform lock in are past the point of no return. This sentence is the essence of why platforms have been allowed to do this again and again.
Its already too late for bluesky, because even if they started federating now, any other instance would be in such a minority that it would have zero sway over the wider federation if bluesky HQ went rogue.
Individual experience carries little weight in my opinion. The evidence does and there is plenty of it and many articles over the years covering it: https://www.euronews.com/my-europe/2022/12/08/culture-of-impunity-across-eu-over-violence-against-migrants-ngo-warns
The second edition of the “Black Book of Pushbacks” compiled by the Border Violence Monitoring Network (BVMN) documents more than 1,635 testimonies of human rights violations affecting almost 25,000 people over the past six years.
They recount being beaten, kicked, humiliated through forced undressing, threatened with a firearm, arbitrarily detained and subjected to inhuman treatment inside a police station before being illegally pushed back both at the EU’s external borders and from deep within the territory of the bloc’s member states.
BVMN meanwhile described itself as “concerned with the growing number of countries using disputed border regions, and so-called ‘neutral zones’ or ‘no-mans lands’ as a location of torture and inhuman treatment against people-on-the-move.”
At least 17 people died between September and New Year’s Eve 2021 at the border between Belarus and Poland after being stranded in one such no man’s land by authorities on both sides of the border.
Euronews is a company under majority ownership of the Hungarian dictator Victor Orban, so if even they report it this way im pretty confident the evidence is quite damning.
For good measure some AP https://apnews.com/article/europe-treaties-united-nations-europe-european-mass-migration-crisis-698431db3975c8e5e018400cbad03a35
This is not some super fresh disputed news topic, its well documented and has been happening everywhere on the eastern european borders for years. I have friends and family who have personally seen the violence inflicted by the soldiers and police that carry out these pushbacks with batons and attack dogs and guns. There is plenty of victim witnesses and video evidence.
Political environment doesnt justify human rights violations. We have these rules for a reason and if we start breaking them already before the war even starts, then we might as well surrender.
Also since when does Germany have a refugee issue? Has someone listened to too much right wing propaganda?
Basically torture yep. Dont go to the US.
Cant steal it, if it is already pro bono :D
Thought so too, but nah. Unless that bot is very intelligent and can read and humorously respond to social media posts by settings its fake domain.
Nah the people doing the pro bono pen testing know. At least for the frontend side and maybe some of the backend.
When i read “maid” and “saudi arabia” this was basically expected. I dont even wanna know the rape rate.
Yeah these people are just stupid.
“Oh, hell no!” the user Sketchette wrote. “The beauty of this platform was the NOT sharing of information. Especially gen AI. Don’t you cave now.”
No you fucking idiot, it has a open API, anyone has been able to extract as much data as they want for any purpose and thats good. Same as all the actual fediverse platforms. The thing that should get people worried is that Bluesky has the power to universally make and enforce this and any decision they want because its a shitty centralized platform like any other social media site.
yes, fixed :D
yeah thats what i meant, park animals constantly see humans so it changes how they behave around them.
It looks like this one is not entirely wild. It has a big ass thing on its neck (probably a tracker) so its at least somewhat used to humans.
The US doesnt have a real egg shortage btw. There is also no impact that is larger than in previous years from the bird flu. The egg monopolists are just making/buying fewer egg laying hens and producing fewer eggs to drive the prices and profit margins up.
This entire “egg shortage” could be solved in a matter of weeks if Trump ordered the companies to do so.
That headline is fucking horrible. That is not just an “interrogation” even if you put it in quotation marks.
This does not fit the criteria so im sorry in advance, but it reminded me of the “Somebody That I Used To Know” song and that there is a really cool “5 people 1 guitar” cover that has 200M views which is a good 8% of the original video with 2.4B views.
They actually use 9 hands on that guitar (10 if you consider the one holding the top end)
Idk, but the root cause of this situation is the fact that border agencies have been allowed to just get access to everyone’s personal devices. If you encrypt them, they wont let you enter. If you wipe them, they wont let you enter. The devastating consequences of these invasive rules have been predicted for decades and now we see that those predictions were spot on. If you give governments the tools to be authoritarian dictatorships, they will eventually use them.
