    For honoring the troops as much as it does, the US sure seems to hate them…

      They’re treated as pawns on the board, nothing more. There’s a reason why so few politicians have their kids in the military.

      With all the honors they give them vs how they treat veterans, you’d think they like the dead soldiers a lot more

        Well obviously, a dead soldier is a cheap soldier, an injured soldier is an expensive soldier, a crippled soldier is even more expensive.

        Sorry to be blunt, but that is how it is.

          It’s literally the reason landmines in their current form exist. They are specifically designed not to kill directly, because a guy screaming in agony with his legs blown off is worse for morale than just a bit of pink mist. As a bonus, that guy then needs to be cared for, transported away, etc. etc.
